Guard Your Soul, It’s Precious

“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you…”, said Oscar Wilde, an Irish poet, novelist, dramatist and critic (1854-1900).

The soul is what actually defines who we are. Our actions and words are usually a reflection of what kind of soul we possess. The material things that we claim to own are temporary, but our soul stays with us. It is our actual being which will experience all the consequences of whatever good and bad deeds we do in this world, physically, on leaving this temporary abode. So why should we give it an eternal torment? Why not repent and mend our ways to take care of our souls?

COVID-19 in Pakistan

Around five thousand deaths in twenty four hours! ALARMING!

This nation has no sense of public responsibility and ethics. You tell them a hoax and they will disseminate it like anything, but if you give them facts and implore them to be cautious, they will ignore the advice, as if they are wiser than an owl and hold a ‘guarantee certificate’ that won’t get any virus because, they are ‘Pakistanis’ and thus, exempted!

Viruses, infections, diseases and epidemics are here. We need to strengthen our immune system and wash our hands (like the Obsessive Compulsive Disorder patients; after touching anything) and take care of health (Remember Darwin’s ‘survival of the FITTEST’!) Though, Darwin’s theories had discrepancies, but, this time, it is surely going to be for the fit.

Coexistence for a Happy world

We all live on the same planet, yet have our own separate worlds within us. Each galaxy is different from the other, in name, shape, size, color and timings. There is nothing to compare or discriminate based on our uniqueness.

Coexisting with one another, regardless of how we are and our differences, brings peace and harmony. If you try to intervene and try to impose your own concepts of ‘normalcy’ and justice, you will cause a universal chaos.

Respect the differences. Live and let live!

‘The World as I See it’ a poem by Samia S. Husayne Khan A.

I am not a Palestinian,
But my heart bleeds for them,
Not a Kashmiri,
But my soul pleads for their freedom,
O the people of the World,
I am not in Syria or Assam,
But I think of them,
I am just a human.
Why do not you see?
We are all the children of Adam and Eve,
Let us forget all borders
And unite under the sky,
As one big family,
With peace and prosperity.
